Colours are superimposed like thoughts, memories sometimes repressed, in landscapes where nature and the city become hallucinations. Everything is mastered, meticulously crafted and skilfully paced, the prerequisite for offering the eye - and the mind behind it - the possibility of escape. So it's hardly surprising that the Hungarian director was awarded the Palme d'Or for Best Short Film at Cannes in 2023 for her sublime film 27.
